Colour as a quiet craft.

Balayage, gloss, Olaplex-integrated lightening, cut & finish, bridal hair — by colourists who do fewer heads per day, on purpose.

The ritual

Why we do it this way

Our colourists take three clients a day, maximum. That number exists because hair that sits with lightener for one minute too long is hair that feels different for three months. Every balayage at Lavender Glow is timed, re-read, and re-timed — a careful rhythm, not a session on a timer.

We use Olaplex N°0 and N°1 inside every lightening formula (not as an "add-on" — it's already in the bowl), Wella Blondor and Shades EQ for lift and gloss, and Davines for maintenance. Every client leaves with the exact product list of what was on their hair today, written by hand on a cream card slipped into the aftercare folder.

A first-visit hair appointment always starts with a full thirty minutes in the chair with your colourist — hair down, lights up, a mirror you can actually see yourself in — before a single brush is dipped. We need to look at your natural undertones, the condition at the ends, the old colour history, and what you actually want this month versus over the next year. Most clients tell us that's the first time a colourist has asked.

After your ritual

The first 48 hours set the next ten weeks.

Colour is a chemistry, and the cuticle — the outer layer of each strand — needs about 48 hours to fully close after a lift. What you do in those two days determines how long your tone stays true and how your hair feels by week six.

  • Don't wash your hair for 48 hours
  • Use a sulphate-free shampoo only — the Davines list in your aftercare folder is what we use in-house
  • Cold-to-lukewarm water, never hot
  • No chlorine pools or direct sunlight on wet hair for a week
  • Apply the leave-in conditioner we gave you, 2 to 3 times a week
  • Book your Gloss & Cut refresh around week six — that's when most clients start to see the gloss soften
Please tell us if

A gentle heads-up.

  • Previously box-dyed hair with metallic salts (we'll test first)
  • Henna within the last 12 months (incompatibility with lift)
  • Pregnancy in the first trimester (we offer highlight-only alternatives)
  • Severe scalp eczema or psoriasis during a flare
  • Broken skin or recent scalp injury
  • Recent chemical relaxer (within 6 weeks)

We do a strand test before any first-time lightening appointment, free of charge. It takes 15 minutes and it's the single best way to protect your hair.

What's included

In every booking

I'd had four balayages in Dubai before I found Lavender Glow, and the difference was immediate — my colourist spent thirty full minutes on the consultation and I could actually tell what she was going to do. The finished result was exactly what we talked about, which I'd honestly never had before.
Hana D., Signature Balayage client, JBR
The Full Transformation took four hours and every minute was considered. I walked in mousy-brown after years of going back and forth with box-dye, and I walked out with warm honey highlights that look like I was born with them.

Questions

Before your first visit

How do I know which colour service I need?+

Book the Signature Balayage if you're looking for a real change or a first-time lift. Book Gloss & Cut if you love your current colour and want it sharpened and glossed. Book the Full Transformation only with prior email or consultation — it's a full-day service and we reserve the chair for you alone.

I've box-dyed my hair before. Can you still do balayage?+

Almost always yes, but we need a strand test first to check for metallic salts (common in supermarket box dye), which can react dangerously with professional lightener. The test is free, takes 15 minutes, and happens at least 48 hours before your colour appointment.

How long does balayage last?+

The colour lift itself is permanent — it grows out rather than fades. The tone (how warm or cool it looks) is sealed with a gloss that lasts six to eight weeks. Most clients book a Gloss & Cut at week six and a full balayage refresh every 12 to 16 weeks.

Will the lightening damage my hair?+

We integrate Olaplex at three stages (pre-soak, in the formula, post-rinse) specifically to protect the disulphide bonds in your hair during lifting. Done carefully, with the right timing, balayage leaves healthy hair healthy. Done carelessly, it's the fastest way to break a strand. Which is why we take only three clients a day per colourist.

Do you do bridal hair?+

Yes — and we build a 3-to-4-month programme for brides who want a specific colour on the wedding day. It typically includes an initial Signature Balayage 12 weeks out, a Gloss & Cut 6 weeks out, and a final glossing session 5 days before the wedding, plus a styling-only appointment on the morning of. Email us to start the conversation.

What if I don't love the result?+

We don't let you leave without loving it. If at any point during the rinse or cut you feel something isn't right, tell your colourist — we will adjust. If you get home and sleep on it and feel the tone is off, call us within 7 days and we'll bring you back in for a complimentary re-gloss. This is a rare ask, because of the 30-minute consultation — but the door is open.
